How can aromatherapy help?

Prevention starts at home

In autumn and winter we spend more time in closed, heated rooms, where germs spread more easily. Several essential oils have air-disinfecting, antiviral and antibacterial properties: diffused, they purify the air; applied to the skin, they support the airways and the body's natural resistance.

Consistency matters most: daily diffusing in shared rooms, a morning rub along the spine or on the chest, and acting quickly at the first signs.

  • For children, always check the age guidance: several essential oils for the airways can only be used from 6 months, or from age 1, 3 or 6. We mark this on every product card.
  • With asthma or a spasmodic cough, cineole-rich oils (eucalyptus, rosemary, niaouli) and blends containing them are not recommended.
  • If you have a high fever, difficulty breathing or a prolonged illness, see a doctor.

Quick help

Prevention in 4 steps

A simple daily routine for the season that takes no longer than making a coffee.

Diffuse every day

Morning and evening, add 4–8 drops of an immune-supporting blend to the diffuser in shared rooms.

Rub it along your spine

For prevention, rub 8 drops of Balance oil blend along your spine every morning, and twice a day when you are unwell.

Refresh the air

After airing the room, one or two sprays of an air-disinfecting room mist, especially after guests have visited.

Act early

At the first scratch in your throat, inhale: add 2 drops of White Essence to hot (not boiling) water and slowly breathe in the steam.

Frequently asked questions

For a runny nose and coughing, mucus-loosening, expectorant essential oils help most: eucalyptus radiata, rosemary ct cineole, niaouli and White Essence. Diffused, Immunarom and Eucaly mix disinfect the air and support the body's natural resistance. Always dilute essential oils in a plant oil before applying them to the skin.

Consistency is key: diffuse 4–8 drops of an immune-supporting blend in shared rooms morning and evening, and for prevention rub 8 drops of Balance oil blend along your spine every morning. After airing a room, one or two sprays of Immunarom or Omniscient room mist will refresh the air.

Age is always the deciding factor, and we mark it on every card. From birth: Immunarom room mist, Omniscient room mist, Omniscient essential oil blend, lemon peel essential oil and Bébelle balm. From 6 months: Immunarom essential oil blend, Leo's magic oil and Magic horse massage oil. From age 1: Green Essence; from age 3: Eucaly mix; from age 6: Balance oil blend and Red Essence. For young children, use cineole-rich single oils (eucalyptus, rosemary, niaouli) only after consulting an aromatherapist.

Immunarom essential oil blend and room mist, the Omniscient products, and White and Green Essence can be used during pregnancy. Avoid eucalyptus radiata in the first trimester; Balance oil blend and Red Essence are not recommended during pregnancy. Always check the warnings on the product page.

With asthma or a spasmodic cough, cineole-rich essential oils (eucalyptus, rosemary ct cineole, niaouli) and blends containing them, such as Balance, Leo's magic oil and White Essence, are not recommended. In this case, ask an aromatherapist or your doctor for advice.

If you have a high fever or difficulty breathing, if symptoms last longer than a week or get worse, and with any fever in a baby. Aromatherapy supports prevention and comfort, but it does not replace a medical examination.
