For more than 25 years, we have been committed to the safety and well-being of our customers, which is why we make it a priority to ensure that our products meet 100% safety standards.
In accordance with European Union regulations on labelling, our products carry safety labels, which are mandatory under the EU CLP (Classification, Labelling, and Packaging) Regulation 1272/2008.
The presence of pictograms and warnings means that we are 100% compliant with strict safety regulations. The classification of essential oils and essential oil blends according to the CLP Regulation often requires the use of safety labels, even though they are not artificial hazardous substances but natural essences extracted from plants. The legislation does not distinguish between essential oils or chemicals in the traditional sense in terms of labelling, putting essential oils in the same category as chemicals. For this reason, it is mandatory to include safety warnings on products that can be used safely in practice. These standards ensure that all users are aware of the correct use and warnings, but they also provide general information on chemical products.
What kind of markings can you see and what do they mean?
There are different pictograms on the packaging of our products. These symbols provide information about the safe handling of substances and the potential risks. For example, they can indicate if a product is flammable, irritant or may be harmful if ingested. These pictograms are defined in the United Nations Globally Harmonised System (GHS) for the labelling of chemicals and are based on the European Union's CLP Regulation. In addition to the pictograms, labels also include warning and precautionary phrases in statutory wording, which also provide information on safe use and appropriate action where necessary.
Our commitment to safety
Our products are made from 100% pure, chemically tested ingredients to ensure maximum safety in use.
Quality certificates for essential oils are available on the product pages for all to see, and product datasheets detail the instructions, suggestions and, where appropriate, warnings for their use.
In addition, we believe that education is important for safe use, so we recommend visiting one of our qualified aromatherapists, completing our Aromatherapy Basic Course and attending our additional aromatherapy workshops. Our qualified aromatherapists undergo a unique European training course of over 1 year, based on a scientific foundation, extensive professional knowledge and the power of touch to ensure a deep and wide-ranging professional knowledge.
We hope this information will help you understand the purpose and importance of the safety labels on our products. Your and your family's safety is our top priority, and these labels are part of our commitment to provide you with high quality, safe and effective products.
Pictograms on products:
We are confident that by promoting aromatherapy and our high quality products, we can help to ensure that in the future essential oils and blends are not classified as chemical products and are exempt from often unjustifiably strict regulations.
