Ylang-ylang in Malay means flower of flowers. It is the raw material of the most expensive perfumes. The essential oil is extracted in spring and autumn from fresh flowers picked in the early morning sunshine, and small stills are used to extract the essential oil, as the flowers are easily damaged by weight and pressure.
It is used, among other things, to lower blood pressure, to relieve rapid heartbeat, to calm the nervous system, for its antidepressant effects, for general anti-convulsant relief and to stimulate sexual desire in women.
Ylang ylang gives the energy of relaxation to those who inhale its sweet, lush fragrance. It also has an aphrodisiac effect. Women's lack of sexual desire or drive is often due to the fact that we as women focus on the imperfect details of our bodies, not believing that our partner loves us and our bodies as we are. Ylang ylang helps us to get into the present, surrendering to the touch, the smell, the here and now.
Can be used in a blend on the skin, in a scent bottle, vaporized.
Ylang-ylang can be added to a vaporizer or mixed with vegetable oil as a body rub to increase libido and sensuality. This lush, sweet fragrance harmonises perfectly with the essential oil of sweet orange peel. Care should be taken with the dosage, its intense, deep fragrance is powerful even at low droplet levels.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Due to its intense fragrance, use in high droplet counts may cause nausea.
