Peruvian balsam, like most resinous, balsamic essential oils, has outstanding effects in wound healing and restoring skin integrity. The essential oil of Peru balsam is a balm for body and soul.
A sweet, velvety-scented oil with antiseptic, powerful antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and cell regenerating properties. It can be used to treat wounds, ulcers, bedsores, inflammations, skin fungus or eczema.
It can also be used as a base for chest rub mixtures due to itsexpectorant action. Because it has a pleasant sweet, caramel and vanilla scent, it can also be used in blends simply for its sweet fragrance.
Its thick, resinous consistency allows it to solidify in the jar. It becomes liquid again on heating.
Can be used in a mixture, applied to the skin, in an odour bottle.
ADVICE
May cause skin irritation in sensitive skin, so a skin test is always recommended.
Due to its thick, resinous consistency, it should not be used in a vaporizer.

When using essential oils on the skin, we recommend mixing them with vegetable oil to avoid irritation.
1 ml myrrh essential oil (Commiphora molmol)
1 ml frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carterii)
1 ml balsamic essential oil of suhur (Cistus ladaniferus ct pine)
50 ml shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii)
Heat the shea butter and when it has cooled but not yet solidified, mix in the essential oils. You can use this mixture for atopic or chafed skin, dry eczema patches.
