Achillea millefolium
The essential oil for reducing inflammation and female complaints
It is our most powerful anti-inflammatory essential oil.
A compound called chamazulene turns the essential oil dark blue, and this is what gives it its powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-itching and anti-spasmodic effects. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, it can be used for dermatitis, eczema, acne, rheumatic symptoms, gynaecological inflammations. Its anti-itching properties make it effective in allergic skin conditions, vaginal infections and vaginal herpes. Due to its antispasmodic action, it can be used for stomach, biliary and renal spasms. The Latin name refers to the Greek hero Achilles, who, according to legend, treated bleeding wounded with a cat's tail, and this wonderful blue-coloured essential oil is also an excellent wound healer, which can be used in facial care.
Can be used in a mixture, applied to the skin, in a scent bottle, vaporized.
Due to its strong colour, it will colour any mixture green or blue.
Due to its strong blue colour, the essential oil can discolour the vaporizer, the bottle cap, the skin surface and clothing.
